Rest was designed by our Creator to refresh all parts of ourselves: soul, body, heart, and mind. On the flip side, when we go too long without rest, some damage happens to all these parts.
Today we’ll read Exodus 16, where trust in Yahweh was established through a pattern of rest. Then we’ll look at the ripple effects in Amos and Isaiah when the Israelites ignored God’s Sabbaths.
A day of rest has deeper implications than we might assume. Choosing rest is an act of trust.
