We're excited to announce that David Wheatley has answered the call to become our church’s new Lead Minister beginning January 8th. David, a Louisville native, met his wife, Amanda, while they were students at the University of Kentucky. Upon graduation they relocated to Cincinnati, where David completed a Masters Degree at Xavier University. He is currently pursuing a second Masters degree at Cincinnati Bible Seminary. The Wheatleys welcomed their first child into the world, a daughter named Reed, this past November. David will serve bi-vocationally, as he will continue to work in his role as a training specialist at Sibcy Cline Realty.
The church has been without an official Lead Minister for four years. Steve Carr, who planted Echo and served as its first minister, has filled most of the duties of the position in his role as a teaching elder. Moving forward, he will continue to shepherd Echo as one of our elders.
When summarizing his feelings about this opportunity and the church, David said, "Echo is a place that quickly felt like home to us, and I couldn't be more excited to serve here. This church is a close-knit group of people from all over Cincinnati joining together to worship God, build into each other, and bring hope to the world around us. At Echo, we believe God is calling our community to new and challenging places, and together we're answering that call as we continue moving toward our mission: to echo His voice to the ends of the earth."
